Announcing National How-To Gardening Webinars!

Kerry Ann says, “At this stage in my life, it seems I am downsizing many things – or better said right-sizing -although chocolate, coffee and coloring my hair are not on this list!  A few years ago I rolled up my sleeves and tackled what seemed to have become a mini-botanical garden in my yard. The end result was a more colorful, four-season, sustainable landscape that also blesses pollinators and other wildlife.

Now I am taking another big resizing step.  I am trimming my extensive travel and lecture schedule to a more manageable pace, especially as I approach the BIG 6-0 this January. In 2015 I had 114 lectures in 16 states.  This year I have 112 lectures in 15 states plus Canada. As were my gardens before I right-sized them, this pace is not sustainable!

My National Gardening Webinars (seminars over the Internet) are designed to benefit busy gardeners who want expert, tried and true advice on how to have beautiful gardens with 50% less input – maintenance, water, fertilizer, pest control – while at the same time benefitting pollinators and wildlife.

These webinars will feature numerous topics including exciting plants (perennials, annuals, flowering shrubs, conifers, trees, bulbs, vines, groundcovers and more!), design techniques, site assessment and preparation, garden maintenance, pest control, gardening for extreme conditions and much more.

The Webinars are designed to:

  • Be extremely affordable for every participant
  • Allow you to enjoy the lecture at the scheduled broadcast time OR any time after the broadcast.  All registrants will receive a presentation download link after the event.
  • Watch the entire lecture or any part that interests you at your convenience, day or night; once or multiple times; now or a year from now. No limitations.
  • Be viewed on your home computer, tablet or smart phone and with any operating system – PC, Mac, Android, IPhone
  • Provide helpful lecture notes via email before you join the Webinar
  • Provide certificates of completion that may be accepted for CEU credits by your respective organizations, i.e. Master Gardeners, Certified Horticulturists and Landscape Architects.

Perennially YoursMy first Webinar kicks-off on Thursday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). Radical Perennials: Non-Stop Color! No-Fuss! Environmentally Sustainable! showcases superhero perennials that provide superb color through flowers and/or leaves month after month. And, these head-turners are low-maintenance and low input, meaning they don’t require excessive water, fertilizer or pampering. These ‘do-gooders’ not only get an “A” from us for their fabulous performance, but also thankful nods of approval from happy pollinators and other treasured wildlife. Plants will range in hardiness from Zones 3 to 8.

Attendees can ask questions during the live session. Depending on the number of questions posted, these will be answered either at the end of the presentation during the live session or emailed to all participants afterwards with answers.

All participants will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win some terrific door prizes. If you are a winner, the gift will be mailed to you.

It’s almost as if you’re attending one of my live lectures hosted at venues across at the Northeast and Midwest – actually you are, just virtually!  I have a webcam set-up so you can see me talking to you as I teach through the slides (webcam image available only during the live recording).

To learn more and join in the fun, visit my Webinars Web page. See you soon!”

When dealing with frost it is always best to be paranoid. In the spring never think it is too late for one more frost to come. And in the fall never think it too early.

I like this blog – so practical! On a similar wavelength, I decided to focus my garden on tropical plants that I can bring in outdoors for the winter and enjoy the colors and scents indoors in the cold weather and outdoors in the warm weather. I guess that makes me a wimp!

It’s such a useful event since the attendees can ask the questions during the live session. I have some questions about the rosemary, ang I will arrange my schedule to attend this event.

I have toyed with “right sizing” several times and have come to the conclusion that I am as young as I feel inside, though I too have trimmed my travel schedule a bit.
