Congratulations to garden blogger Nan Ondra, whose book Foliage was awarded a Garden Book Award from the American Horticultural Society. According to the press release, “books are judged by the AHS Book Award Committee on qualities such as writing style, authority, accuracy, and physical quality.” Go visit Hayefield and offer your congratulations.
If winter is slumber and spring is birth, and summer is life, then autumn rounds out to be reflection. It’s a time of year when the leaves are down and the harvest is in and the perennials are gone. Mother Earth just closed up the drapes on another year and it’s time to reflect on what’s come before.

This is a well-deserved award … off to leave congratulations.
She’s certainly a wonderful writer and very deserving of the award. Good for her! We’ve been checking her books out of the library..they seem to have a lot! Will look for this one. I’m off to congratulate her.
Have a happy Easter Kathy. This weather sure doesn’t feel very springy! Ugh!
That is great news. I love that book, it has been such an inspiration.
Wow! The cover of the Foliage book is stunning. It looks like a must have. Thanks for the recommendation Kathy!
