Registration not necessary to comment on Cold Climate Gardening

In the upper right hand corner and down at the bottom of the sidebar (in the Meta section) is a link that says Register (if you’re not already registered). That is there just in case spammers or trolls get so bad that the only way to control them is to require registration for all commenters. Thankfully, obnoxious comments have been few and far between, so I haven’t “flipped the switch” and made registration necessary.

Consequently, registration doesn’t accomplish a thing for anyone who hasn’t been invited to be a contributor. There’s no harm in it, just no purpose to it. I apologize for the confusion.

If you did register, I got an email saying that you did. It is automatically handled by WordPress and doesn’t require my approval or anything. Someone contacted me through the contact form and said they’ve been waiting to hear if they’ve been accepted. Either they are confusing me with a different group or the registration process failed catastrophically. But it’s not worth bothering to try again.

Again, sorry for any confusion.

What differentiates a bulb from a perennial plant is that the nourishment for the flower is stored within the bulb itself.…There is something miraculous about the way that a little grenade of dried up tissue can explode into a complete flower.
