Back Upstairs

image of handmade bedRenovations have progressed to the point where we are all sleeping upstairs in our bedrooms now. My DH and I were the last to move back upstairs, just two nights ago. Since we were sleeping in the living room and not in a tent, there was no point in moving back until he had finished making our new bed. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s made of cedar and pine, and designed to have storage above and below. view of bottom of storage platform chevronHe designed the bottom of the upper storage platform in a chevron pattern–our own special pillowside view.

It’s been raining all day and they’re predicting up to 3 to 4 inches of rain. I think our water table will be back to normal after this.

Wow! Please show us more of your home. I am so impressed with people who know how to build things.

Designed it right out of his head. (Mom didn’t know fully what it was going to look like until it was constructed.)

You have a good eye, Cynthia–there is indeed closet built in behind the bed. Actually, a small one for each side.

Boy’s and girls room do not yet have the funiture built. (That is my job.)

Did he design the bed or did he have a pattern to follow? The design is beautiful and simple, and the storage loft is an organizer’s dream!
Is there also some storage room behind the head of the bed or is that just my imagination? I would love to see the guys’ and gals’ rooms also.
